Senior management role | Member of the Management Team | ’s-Hertogenbosch
Continue to build a professional and forward-looking service organisation
We are looking for an experienced Technical Service Manager for Lödige Benelux who can successfully bridge the gap between technology, people, customers and business results.
You will be given responsibility for a large-scale service organisation with around 24 staff and approximately 3,500 lifts under maintenance. You will ensure that maintenance, breakdowns, repairs and inspections are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with agreed procedures. At the same time, you will further develop the department and implement improvements in the areas of quality, customer satisfaction, productivity and profitability.
This is a versatile middle management role for a capable and people-oriented manager who maintains a broad overview, takes responsibility and enjoys being visible to both staff and customers.
The function
As Technical Service Manager, you will provide operational and coaching leadership to the Lift Service and Maintenance department. The team consists of service engineers, planners, a supervisor and a back-office staff member.
You will have overall responsibility for day-to-day service delivery and the management of the entire service portfolio. This includes maintenance contracts, breakdowns, repairs, modernisation projects and inspections. In doing so, you will focus on turnover, profit margins, productivity, safety, quality and compliance with contractual agreements.
The department accounts for a contract value of over €3 million and a similar annual volume of projects, repairs and breakdown call-outs. You will report directly to senior management and be a member of the Management Team.
Your main responsibilities
- Managing, coaching and developing the skills of around 24 staff members;
- managing day-to-day service operations, planning and the 24/7 breakdown service;
- monitoring maintenance contracts, service levels, budgets, margins and capacity;
- achieving agreed KPIs in the areas of turnover, productivity, quality and profitability;
- improving and professionalising processes, working methods and reporting;
- maintaining contact with key clients and resolving complex client or quality issues;
- identifying commercial opportunities in the areas of repairs, modernisation, new-build projects and long-term maintenance;
- collaborating with the sales department, project management, other department managers and senior management;
- overseeing safety, HSE policy, VCA certification and the quality of the work carried out;
- developing customer and management reports and making decisions based on reliable information from the ERP system;
- translating the business strategy into specific objectives and actions for the department.
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced technical service or maintenance manager who can switch easily between strategy and day-to-day operations. You are confident and self-assured, but above all, you know how to inspire people through clarity, commitment and a coaching style of leadership.
You combine technical insight with commercial and financial acumen. You understand that good service is not just about resolving faults, but also about keeping to commitments, building long-term customer relationships, having motivated staff and achieving sound results.
You will also have access to:
- higher vocational education (HBO) level of working and thinking, preferably with a technical background;
- at least five to ten years’ relevant experience within a technical service, maintenance or field service organisation;
- demonstrable experience of leading multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams;
- experience in contract management, budgetary responsibility and performance management;
- an analytical, pragmatic and results-oriented approach;
- persuasiveness and the ability to bring about real change;
- a good command of Dutch and English; German would be an advantage;
- experience with ERP systems and MS Office;
- Category B driving licence.
Experience in the lift industry is a strong advantage, but candidates from other technically complex service environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

- collaboration within an internationally operating family business;
- terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Metalektro collective agreement;
- 27 days’ holiday and 13 ATV days;
