Financial Controller

Region: North Holland

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a leading international technical organisation. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable financial records, high-quality management information and robust internal controls. You will work closely with management, the board and international colleagues, and make an active contribution to the further professionalisation of the Finance & Control organisation.

What will you do?

• Preparing, analysing and optimising periodic financial reports, forecasts and budgets;
• Responsible for ensuring that monthly, quarterly and annual accounts are prepared accurately and on time;
• Co-ordinating the preparation of the annual accounts in collaboration with the external auditor;
• Monitoring financial performance and analysing variances against budgets and forecasts;
• Ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations, accounting guidelines and internal controls;
• Identifying financial risks and initiating improvement projects within Finance;
• Supporting international branches with financial reporting and consolidation.

What do you bring?

• A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Economics or a similar subject;
• At least five years’ relevant experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role;
• A thorough understanding of financial reporting, accounting and internal control;
• Strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of Excel;
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365;
• A good command of Dutch and English;
• Experience within an international technical, industrial or project-based organisation;
• A proactive, meticulous and independent approach to work.
